The main responsibilities of this role are to provide work based assessment, coaching & support to apprentices to enable them to fulfil their course requirements including End Point Assessment. The post holder will be supporting Apprentices working towards the Plumbing & Domestic Heating standard along with other skills, knowledge and behaviours that are developed. Assessors will work with apprentices in both group and individual basis. This interaction with apprentices will take place at the apprentices workplace and vocational campus. This role also requires good communication skills across all departments and including the apprentices employer. Under the Health & Safety etc. at Work Act 1974 it is the responsibility of individual employees at every level to take care of their own health and safety at work and that of others who may be affected by their acts at work. There role would also include maintaining compliance with COSHH and PUWER and other safety regulations. Keep accurate safety records for audits and inspections. Manage safe storage and handling of materials, chemicals, and equipment. The Plumbing technician is also needed for Curriculum & Assessment Support they will need to order and maintain stock/materials in line with curriculum plans and assessment schedules. Set up workshop spaces and equipment for practical sessions. Provide technical assistance to tutors during practical delivery. Support for Plumbing Apprenticeships ensuring workshops reflect industry-standads and also to prepare for EPA training. Liaise with suppliers/employers to keep materials and tools up to date. Manage stock control to reduce waste Help organise workshop timetables and resource usage. Support staff inductions and safe-use training for equipment.
