• Advert Title Head of School, Creative Media and Business and IT (Basildon Town Centre)
• Advert Text The Basildon Town Centre (BTC) Campus is a highly successful, high achieving, diverse and multi capacity campus set in the centre of Basildon opposite the local amenities and train and bus station. The campus supports curriculum from entry level 3 to HE across a broad range of provision. These main provisions centre around Creative Media and IT subjects but also include PTI, supported internships, ESOL and full cost courses. These areas are in the governments local and national skills shortage area and have huge potential for growth and development. The Head of School role requires a manager with the drive, enthusiasm and forward looking outlook to increase learner numbers, industry links, local pathway and ensure the continuation of staff engagement that keep the high achievement, retention and success. As the campus is a standalone site, the role also consists of the day to day physical running and management of the BTC site as a whole as not all cross sites department managers are onsite throughout the week. These areas include English and Maths, Estates Services, PTI, ALS and ESOL provisions. The supportive and collaborative nature of the role is indicative to its success. The candidate will need to have a strong background in one of these core curriculum areas combined with strong leadership experience. The candidate must also show a proven track record of high performing teaching and learning, outcomes, employer engagement, curriculum development, finance management and understanding and people management. Above all the candidate must be a strong role model with drive and enthusiasm to continue the growth of this high achieving campus. As a minimum, candidates will ideally possess the following: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / CertEd / DTLLS or DeT) Hold a degree or level 6 qualification or professional qualification relevant to subjects taught. Proven senior management experience of a varied curriculum offer in a large, diverse education provider, particularly within GCSE English. Successful outstanding teaching practice Proven experience of curriculum leadership & development. Be highly motivated and enthusiastic about their subject area and outcomes for learners.
