• Advert Text We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Lecturer in Wig making and Styling for Production to join our Higher Education team on a part-time basis at University Centre South Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate industry professional or educator to contribute to the delivery of our BA hons Hair & Make-Up for Production degree programme, preparing students for careers across TV, film, and stage. As a lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching across Levels 4, 5, and 6. You will bring your professional expertise into the classroom, supporting students to develop both creative and technical skills aligned with current industry practice. You will contribute to a broad curriculum, providing engaging learning experiences and helping students build the knowledge and confidence required for careers in the creative industries. We are looking for an individual with strong experience in wig making, wig knotting, and wig styling for TV, film, and stage, who is passionate about teaching and inspiring the next generation of creative professionals. You will be confident in sharing your industry knowledge and practical expertise in an engaging and accessible way. The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification in Wig making, styling, Hair & Make-Up or a closely related subject, alongside strong, up-to-date industry knowledge and practical experience. A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE is also desirable, although not essential depending on your professional experience. You will have specialist knowledge in areas such as wig making techniques, wig knotting, wig styling, historical and period wig work, creative design and research methodologies, and industry-led practice and current trends, enabling you to support delivery across a diverse and industry-focused curriculum.
